Welcome new Liverymen
At the Award to Industry Dinner at Saddlers’ Hall in January we welcomed four new members who were clothed in the Livery.
Mike Dewhirst, from Stratford upon Avon, is pictured here with his wife Tracy. Mike is the chairman of Polar Technology and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, having graduated from Leeds University with degrees in mechanical and automotive engineering.
His recreational activities centre around his family, skiing, and health and fitness. Kart racing and demonstrating historic F1 cars also occupy his leisure time.
Scott Roberts is a colleague of Mike’s at Polar Technology, where he is chairman of the Management Group. Scott lives in Denchworth, Oxfordshire, and is pictured at the clothing with his partner Mel. His professional qualifications include a PhD from the University of Strathclyde and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
Scott has a wide range of interests including fishing, shooting, motorcycling, classic cars, golf and rugby. He also holds a Private Pilot’s Licence.
Chris Saysell, who is Head of Corporate Credit Research at M&G Investments, lives in Markyate, Hertfordshire with his wife Naomi. Chris attended university in Kent and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Motorsports and horse riding feature on Chris’s list of recreational activities, as well as light aviation (microlights, both fixed wing and flex). Chris is a member of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association and the British Microlight Aircraft Association.
Martin Overington lives in Farnham, Surrey with his wife Felicity and runs his own company, Stenball Group Construction. Martin is a car enthusiast, regularly campaigning his Blower Bentley at the Le Mans Classic or demonstrating his Porsche 962 at events around Europe. He also owns the famous Hotel de France at Le Mans and a travel agency specialising in all things car-related.
He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, but it looks like he has found his natural home with the Coachmakers.
