Pattenmakers lift the Prince Arthur Cup

On a thankfully dry day on 16th May, teams from 42 Livery Companies met at Walton Heath to compete in the prestigious Prince Arthur Cup competition, writes Liverymen Martin Derrick.

Walton Heath, a former Ryder Cup venue that last year hosted the IAG Women’s Open, is one of the UK’s top courses and is always a pleasure and a privilege for golfers to play.

And it’s a pleasure and a privilege for the Coachmakers to organise the competition each year since it was inaugurated back in 1927. It has since grown to be the largest amateur one day tournament in the UK.

Congratulations to the Pattenmakers, this year’s winners, who were presented with the magnificent trophy by the Master Coachmaker Bettine Evans.
