Standard terms and conditions for aerospace awards

Standard terms and conditions for the Coachmakers’ aerospace scholarships, bursaries and other awards.

1. These terms and conditions apply to all awards, bursaries or scholarships made by the Aerospace Awards Committee of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London either directly to the recipient or through any other third party, institution, charity, company, or any other organisation. The term ‘award’ is deemed to cover any scholarship, bursary, grant, gift, placement, invitation event or payment event managed or administered by the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London.

2. Unless otherwise stated, all applications shall be made through the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London website.

3. All applicants for any award administered or granted by the Aerospace Awards Committee of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London shall be a UK citizen or have permanent and lasting rights to reside and work in the UK at the time of the grant of the award.

4. All applicants for any award administered or granted by the Aerospace Awards Committee of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London shall be under the age of 35 years old on 31st August in the livery year of the award. i.e., their 35th birthday must be after 31st August for the livery year in which the award is associated with.

5. All information will be held as confidential in accordance with the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London data protection policy. By applying for the award an applicant agrees to the use of their personal information within the Coachmakers’ organisation and associated liverymen.

6. All applicants for any award administered or granted by the Aerospace Awards Committee of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London shall be deemed to consent for any and all photographs and pictures of their participation in the selection process and any subsequent award activity, and their name to be used by the Coachmakers for publicity and promotion purposes.

7. The awards are not transferable to any other person or organisation.

8. Winners or recipients of awards must abide by any rules or regulations of any organisations where they may from time to time may be located or associated.

9. Winners or recipients of any awards undertake to maintain personal standards such that they are not involved in any of the following list of activities or incidents during the course of enjoying the benefits of the award:
a. Drug, alcohol or other psychedelic substance misuse
b. Financial impropriety, county court judgments or bankruptcy
c. Conviction of criminal or civil offence
d. Offensive or abusive public behaviour or use of social or other media
e. Abusive or anti-social behaviour
f. Eviction or removal from any course or project for which the award was made or associated
g. Misconduct which will adversely affect in any way or bring into disrepute the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London, the wider livery organisation, any sponsor or any partner organisation.

10. Should any of the instances of personal standards breaches as mentioned in these Terms and Conditions become proven or evident then any unpaid or paid sums of the award may be retained or recovered, and the award may be withdrawn or cancelled. In the case of this clause being invoked the recipient of the award shall be liable to repay any monies received. Any rights to use the title of the award may be withdrawn.

11. The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London has a policy of inclusion and embraces all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, religion, medical or other need. The Coachmakers gives equal access and opportunities and does not permit any discrimination or intolerance. This policy applies to all aspects of the award processes and all persons including the applicants for the awards shall abide by this policy.

12. All awards granted shall be monitored by Coachmakers’ personnel and subject to periodic review and assessment for the purpose of supporting the recipient and ensuring compliance. Should recipients not progress with their stated training for which the award has been made in reasonable time, as determined by the Coachmakers dependent on the particular award, the award may be suspended and no further payments made.

13. The recipient of any flying award shall not embark on any other powered flying training course or event during the period of the award. Engagement in other forms of powered flying training, including theoretical study may result in the suspension or cancelation of the award at the discretion of the Coachmakers.

14. All award applicants and recipients shall be bound by these terms and conditions as they may be updated and amended from time to time.

15. The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London is the final arbiter and decision maker in all instances and will not undertake to provide any information as to how any individual candidate has been selected or how any other decision made.
