15.04.21 The Clerk

New Date – 60 Minutes with Hugh Conway, Chairman of the Bugatti Trust

The virtual tour of the Bugatti Trust Museum will now take place on Thursday 29th April 2021 at 6pm. If you’ve not already done so, book your place by following this link.

The Virtual Tour of the Bugatti Trust will be led by Liveryman Hugh and Curator Angela Hucke, and will include a tribute to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip who opened the Trust in 1990 with the founder of the Trust, Hugh’s father, HG Conway CBE. Hugh has said: “In celebration of Prince Philip’s life we are reminded of the encouragement he gave to young engineers and designers. He took pleasure in formally opening The Bugatti Trust 31 years ago – 25th March 1990- and we are grateful for the support he gave to the Trust to meet its objectives. Additionally it may be noted that it was he who advised our founder of a collection of Bugatti coaches in Belgium with Baron Casier, who kindly lent several items of Ettore Bugatti’s horse tackle for display on the opening day.”

The event will provide the opportunity to see images of HRH The Prince Philip’s visit to the Trust opening, recollections of the day and photographs of a selection of historic Bugatti coaches.

As a special guest on the night, The Trust will introduce Sue Niederberger from Sattlerei Niederberger in Switzerland, who was instrumental in producing the English edition of: HORSEMAN BUGATTI Ettore Bugatti: His life with horses and carriages by Andres Furger, and who has first-hand experience of the coaches in action.
