Coachmakers welcomes new members
At the Automotive Dinner at Carpenter’s Hall in March, we welcomed one member who was clothed in the Livery, one who was sworn and clothed and eight new Freemen, reports Hon Assistant Lesley Upham.
Newly clothed Liveryman Sir Aubrey Brocklebank BT
Aubrey and his partner Fiona hail from Northamptonshire. Educated at Eton and Durham University, Aubrey is a director of a number of companies and also Treasurer of the Standing Council of The Baronetage. His interests include classic cars, motor racing and shooting.
Newly clothed Liveryman John Harris
John and his partner Debbie live in Greensted, Essex. He attended the University of Reading and is Senior Partner at T.Cribb & Sons, Funeral Directors and Carriage Masters. John is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Farriers and the Worshipful Company of Carmen. As well as being a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors.
John’s interests include gardening and funeral history, he is currently forming a museum.
Newly sworn Freeman Philip Cotton
Philip and his wife Miranda live in Poole, Dorset. He was educated at Chesterfield Grammar School, going on to attend the University of Birmingham. Philip is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. Among other appointments he is Chair and Pro Chancellor at Solent University, Southampton and Independent Audit Committee Chair, World Sailing. Unsurprisingly his interests include yachting, as well as skiing, and cycling.
Newly sworn Freeman Holly Grainger
Holly and her husband live in west London. Holly attend the University of Exeter and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Her current appointment is Deputy Head of Investor Relations with Aston Martin Lagonda plc. Holly is a member of the Investor Relations Society and the CFA Society. Her interests include skiing, running, gardening, and biblical Hebrew.
Newly sworn Freeman Michael Malone
Michael and his wife Anoushka live in Tunbridge Wells. Michael attended Maidstone Boys Grammar, before going onto Kingston University, London. He is Managing Director of Rent-A-Truck (UK) Ltd, a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry, and is a Thorough Examiner for the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers. Michael’s main interest is carriage driving. He owns a team of four Hackney horses, a British rare breed and traditional carriage horse. He shows the horses in traditional vehicles, mainly coaches.
Newly sworn Freeman Tamalie Newbery
Tamalie and her husband Christopher hail from Guildford. Tamalie attended Claremont Fan Court School before going to the University of Birmingham. She has a certificate in fundraising management, is Director & CEO of Brooklands Museum Trust. Her interests include museums and heritage, contemporary dance, visual arts.
Newly sworn Freeman Alexander Patterson
Alexander and his wife Rosanne live in Bentley, Farnham. Alexander attended Norwich School, moving on to the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. He is Engagement & Heritage Director at Brooklands Museum. Unsurprisingly Alexanders interests include archaeology and industrial heritage, as well as hill walking and the great outdoors. He also has a growing passion for pre-war vehicles.
Newly sworn Freeman Ravi Sibal
Ravi hails from Prenton, Merseyside, and attended Staffordshire and Aston Universities. He is Group Program Director of Talk Talk, having previously been Transformation Director at Bentley Motors. Ravi’s interests include business and rugby.
Newly sworn Freeman Andrew Walton CBE
Andrew lives in Wimbledon Village. He attended the Royal College of Defence Studies and is now Head of Group Strategy for Saab UK Ltd. His interests are wide ranging and cover international relations, strategy golf and walking.
Newly sworn Freeman Oliver Welch
Oliver and his partner Marged live in Walthamstow. Oliver attended the Universities of Liverpool, Birmingham and London. He is Senior Director, Public Affairs at FTI. His previous appointments include Deputy Head of Export Policy at the Ministry of Defence and Private Secretary to the Minister for Defence Procurement, Ministry of Defence. Oliver is a member the Royal United Services Institute.
