The latest attraction on our doorstep

London is full of attractions of course, but new ones are always welcome. The secondary financial quarter in East London’s Canary Wharf has become an increasingly attractive destination with impressive glass towers, shopping malls, street art, endless restaurants, night clubs and bars as well as numerous parks and gardens.

Just a short run from the City, Canary Wharf can be reached in 20 minutes via the DLR from Bank, and is also connected via the new Elizabeth Line Abbey Wood branch and the Jubilee Line Underground. The Wharf can also be accessed by the Thames River Clipper from several points in the City down to Canary Riverside South – the most scenic way to visit East London’s leisurely destination.

Eden Dock, a waterfront oasis in the heart of Canary Wharf, has recently opened. Designed and developed by Cornwall’s The Eden Project, it is a large expanse of boardwalks and aquatic islands, with extensive shrubbery, trees, and topiary.
Take a look at this YouTube video.

In the evening it is impressively floodlit and changes from what was a simple dock into a delightful and enjoyable area to elevate one’s mental and physical being. It provides an enjoyable afternoon or evening outing, exploring the dock, shopping and dining experiences on offer.

There is also an extensive Botanical Roof Garden on top of Crossrail Place, the mall atop the Elizabeth Line station. The attractive transparent and partly open roof accommodates mature sub-tropical trees lining a meandering pathway.
