THE PRINCE ARTHUR CUP – A COACHMAKERS HOSTED EVENT
FRIDAY 20TH AUGUST 2021
The largest one-day foursome’s competition in Europe with 216 individual golfers. It is a golfing trophy, awarded originally by the Coachmakers, to the best Livery Company team and is played on the two famous Walton Heath golf courses designed by the legendary James Braid.
1927 was the year in which Prince Arthur of Connaught was invited to become a guest of the Coachmakers’ Livery Company. He went on to be elected Assistant and showed such an interest in the Company that he became Master in 1932. Walton Heath Golf Club was the venue for the Ryder Cup in 1981 and most recently host to the British Masters in 2018.
