Liverymen enjoy Barbury shoot
The splendid and welcoming Barbury Shooting School hosted the Coachmakers on Sunday 29th August for a fun and social morning of clay pigeon shooting. The team for the day consisted of Liverymen Rakesh Sharma, Mike Dearden, John Boyes, and Assistant Mark Garnier accompanied by his son & daughter.
The day started with hearty breakfast rolls and decent coffee. Then the group was split into two teams who shot 12 stands of various and challenging targets, some easier than others, with everyone getting their eye in for the coming shooting season. The team debriefed over a nice local cider at the Calley Arms, Hodson recounting the day’s escapades of missing the sitters, or pulling off long distant pot shots! The weather was kind and the day was enjoyed by all, leaving us keen for future events.
The next Coachmakers’ clay pigeon shooting event will be held at 10am on 13th November at Atkin Grant & Lang Shooting School in Markyate, Hertfordshire: https://www.agl-uk.com/.
The ground operates an open licence approach to shooting, so as long as each group are shooting with at least one licence holder then we are able to accommodate non-licence holders for the event. The form is pay as you go on the day, depending on the number of targets we shoot. Budgetary prices are £40 per 100 clays per person. There are a number of good pubs in the local area and all Coachmakers, their families and friends are welcome. More details to follow.
