Join us for clay shooting

The next Coachmakers’ shooting event will be a clay day on Saturday 15th March 2025 at Atkin Grant & Lang Shooting School.

Location: Atkin Grant & Lang Shooting School, Broomhills, Markyate, Herts, AL3 8LP
Meeting time: 10am for a breakfast bap and tea/coffee

The ground operates an open licence approach to shooting, so as long as each group are shooting with at least one licence holder then we are able to accommodate non-licence holders for the event. The form would be pay as we go on the day, depending on the number of targets we shoot. Budgetary prices are £40 per 100 clays per person.

Additionally, please feel free to bring guests. The more the merrier!

Depending on numbers shooting, I propose that we have a spot of lunch at The Alford Arms, Frithsden.

I am thinking of organising 2 game shooting days for Coachmakers this coming 2025/26 season. The first to be an early season September 2025 partridge day, and then a later season January 2026 pheasant day. Form will be 150-200 over eight guns, with dinner at a pub local to the shoot the night before, based in central-ish England.

For the partridge day, I intend to book a day at Teffont Magna just south of Salisbury Plain. I shot there recently and it was an excellent and well organised day, with very affable hosts. The pheasant day, I will need to put out some feelers, but recommendations are most welcome.
