Join us at Goodwood for the Mike Hawthorn Memorial Track Day
Mike Hawthorn was Britain’s first Formula One World Champion, writes Liveryman Nick Lyford. The flamboyant racer drove for Scuderia Ferrari almost his entire career, taking the World Championship title in 1958, then immediately announcing his retirement. Just three months later, he sadly died in a road car accident. Hawthorn won in his first year driving for the Scuderia on 5th July 1953, driving a Ferrari 500 at Reims, France.
In recognition of his first victory, the Friends of Mike Hawthorn have organised a private track day at the fabulous Goodwood circuit on 5th July 2023 and there are 15-20 places available for Coachmakers who like the thrill of the track, especially Goodwood. If you are interested, please download this form, fill it in and send it to Nick with a securing deposit. Do hurry as places are going fast.
