Inter-Livery Clay Shoot
The annual Inter-Livery Clay Pigeon Shoot took place at the prestigious West London School, near Northolt, over two days in May. The course was shot over 12 stands, some targets replicating game birds and others decidedly technical in presentation, providing something for everyone. An update to previous years’ competition was the addition of two superb team flush stands with exploding flash clays mixed in among the targets. Overall it was relaxed but very enjoyable shooting day, with good company.
The weather was extremely pleasant, and after shooting, teams returned to a rather excellent hog roast lunch and prize giving. In all, 112 teams took part – a logistical challenge that was skilfully handled. The winning team, which finished 12th, was the Farmers A, the Gunmakers A unsurprisingly being the top team on the flush. The Patternmakers A team unexpectedly took the top score, defeating the Gunmakers. A commendable score for the Coachmakers saw our team come 29th.
The Coachmakers’ team consisted of Alex Bailey, Andrew Garner, Peter Zanattta and Alastair Boyes.
We are keen to field two teams next year. This will again be held at the West London Shooting School on 13th and 14th May 2026. So if you are keen to join, please email Alastair Boyes.
