Coachlines - January 2022
26.01.22 The Clerk
In memory
Commencing with this edition, it is intended to notify the wider membership of the Coachmakers’ Company about those Coachmakers who are no longer with us. It is not intended to be an obituary column but rather a simple means of announcing the passing of fellow Coachmakers.
Liveryman Roger Earl passed away after a short illness on 26th November 2021, aged 81 years. He joined the Company as a Freeman on 30th January 2007, was made a Freeman of the City on 17th April 2007 and was clothed in the Coachmakers’ Livery on 22nd November 2007. He was a member of Lloyds and was extremely well known in the motoring and aviation worlds, and for many years he had been a close friend of the late Sir Stirling Moss.
Freeman Philip Emburey also passed away on 26th November 2021, aged 66 years. He joined the Company as a Freeman on 23rd January 2020 at the last physical Livery event prior to the pandemic. An accountant by profession, he had a keen interest in military history and aviation and was looking forward to exploring the opportunities offered by the Coachmakers’ various connections in these areas of activity.
