28.06.22 The Clerk
In memory: Liveryman Paul Wood
Liveryman Paul Wood passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 22nd May 2022. With his brother Andrew he founded P&A Wood, specialists in all things Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Paul joined the Coachmakers’ Company in 2005, the same year that P&A Wood was awarded the Coachmakers’ Award to Industry for the repair and restoration of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars and Merlin aero engines. In 2017 Paul was recognised as a Master Coachmaker by the Coachmakers’ Company under an initiative of the Livery Companies Skills Council.
Paul’s family made the following announcement on the Company website, reproduced with their permission:
Paul had spent many years future proofing P & A Wood for an eventuality such as this. Not only does he leave behind his family but an expert workforce that he and Andrew have spent years training, he was incredibly proud of what they had both achieved over the years. We know that he would want nothing more than for the business to continue working hard to produce fantastic work to the highest standards and ensure that his legacy lives on here at P & A Wood. Paul’s brilliance will be sorely missed but his determination, dedication and passion for motor cars will forever be held dear in our hearts. All future work will be produced in Paul’s honour.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Tuesday 5th July at 2.30pm at St John & St Giles Church, Great Easton, CM6 2HF.
