This is your chance to join the Court in celebrating the installation of the new Master Coachmaker for the ensuing year.
The 1st of September 2018 falls on a Saturday this year. Therefore as has been the custom for the past 241 years since King Charles II graciously bestowed upon the Coachmakers’ Company its Royal Charter on 31st May 1677, under such circumstances the new Livery Year will commence on the next working day, which will be Monday 3rd September 2018.
On this day, the Court will gather and conduct an Election Court Meeting at Tallow Chandlers’ Hall. After the Election Court Meeting has concluded, the Court, led by the outgoing Master, will then process to St James, where the Installation Service will be conducted by our own Honorary Chaplain, Honorary Court Assistant the Venerable Ray Pentland CB. During the service the Master Elect will be formally installed as the Master after which he will lead the Court and guests back to Tallow Chandlers’ Hall to preside over the Election Court Installation Dinner.
Members of the wider Livery and their guests are invited to join this celebration.
However, due to the modest seating capacity of Tallow Chandlers’ Hall the number of places available are limited therefore do not hesitate, please book now.
Timings are as follows:
1725 – Court guests, Liverymen and their guests to muster at St James, Garlickhythe, Garlick Hill, London, EC4V 2AF
1735 – Court members and all guests to be seated
1745 – Installation Service commences
1835 – Installation Service concludes, after which the Master Coachmaker will lead the Court and guests to Tallow Chandlers’ Hall
1845 – Champagne reception at Tallow Chandlers’ Hall
1930 – Election Court Installation Dinner commences
2245 – Carriages
