Philip Treacy OBE is milliner to the best of the best. Described by Vogue magazine as “perhaps the greatest living milliner”, Philip was the first milliner in 80 years to be invited to exhibit at the Paris haute couture fashion shows. He has won British Accessory Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards five times, and his designs have been displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He holds the Royal warrant to HM Queen Camilla and counts The Princess of Wales, Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, Madonna and Kate Moss among his loyal clients, as well as being intimately involved with King Charles III’s coronation.
Join the Mistress for a ladies-only tour of his workshop. Philip will be on site to explain his process and introduce those who, with him, make his exquisite handcrafted sculptural masterpieces that are disparagingly referred to as mere ‘hats’.
This really is a workshop tour unlike any other the Coachmakers has arranged. No oil. No engines. Not even a spanner, but probably some metal and certainly a lot of amazing talent, creativity and engineering.
Due to the intimate nature of the workshop, we are strictly limited to 10 places. This event is for ladies only but is open to both Coachmakers and their guests.
