The Master and Livery Committee are delighted to confirm that a small group of Coachmakers and partners/friends (to a maximum of 30 people) are invited to join us on a very rare visit to Britain’s leading postgraduate university, Cranfield; home of so much world-leading engineering and industrial research.
The Vice Chancellor, leading Professors and Associates will welcome us, lead us on tours of the Aerospace and the Automotive & Motorsport Schools either side of a buffet lunch, and round out the day with a series of 15-minute presentations on the future of new fuels and hydrogen in transport.
As the only Livery Company with such close connections across the aerospace, aviation, automotive and motorsport industries, we could not have a better ally than Cranfield; nor a better university to be permitted such a visit during which we’ll be allowed to take a truly ‘behind the scenes’ look at its innermost corners of advanced engineering and research. It will be a fascinating and important day.
This very special visit to Cranfield (off the M1, J13, postcode MK43 0AL) starts at 11.00 hrs; the tours will take place in smaller groups either side of lunch; and the lectures start at 15.00 hrs, permitting a 16.30 hrs departure.
There will be a charge of £35 per head to cover expenses. Please apply as soon as possible – we already have strong advance demand.
