P&A Wood, founded by twin brothers Paul and Andrew Wood, is a world-renowned specialist in the restoration, service, and sale of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, established after their early success restoring a £60 20/25 model. Based in Great Easton, the firm became an official dealer around 1990 and is known for its high-quality, authentic work, including expertise in historic Rolls-Royce Merlin aircraft engines.
The business began in humble, small premises before growing into a premier specialist, with a history detailed in the 2022 book, Attention to Detail – The P&A Wood Story.
Despite being a smaller, independent garage initially, it secured the prestigious Rolls-Royce agency around 1990, later navigating the brand’s split to become a specialist service dealer for both marques.
P&A Wood has a reputation for perfectionism, having restored significant vehicles such as the 1931 8-litre Gurney Nutting Sports Tourer, the first British car to win Best of Show at Pebble Beach.
Andrew Wood developed expertise in restoring the Rolls-Royce Merlin aero engine. Following the sudden passing of Paul Wood in 2022, the company continues its work, with the family Georgina, a Coachmaker Freeman, and Louise ensuring the legacy of the business carries on.
The tour will start at 10:30 and finish around lunchtime when we will retire to a local pub for a self-paid lunch. Please contact Assistant Nick Lyford (07399 637154) if you would like further details.
The cost of the tour will be £30pp, all of which P&A Wood has kindly donated to the Coachmakers’ Charitable Fund.
