- This event has passed.
The book is now open for the Coachmaker Banquet 2024, this year’s theme is naval aviation in association with the charity Navy Wings.
Enjoy a unique evening of fine food, wines, and bespoke entertainment in one of the City’s most historic venues.
On display in the Great Hall will be a full sized flying replica of a 1914 Bristol Scout, a tribute to the earliest days of naval aviation. Also on display will be artefacts of the late, great Royal Navy test pilot, Captain Eric “Winkle” Brown CBE DSC AFC RN, and during Dinner there will be stories and anecdotes from Naval aviators and engineers in recognition of this year’s Centenary of the formation of the Fleet Air Arm, when it became known as such in 1924.
A special treat will be a fire-side chat between Admiral Sir George Zambellas GCB, DSC, ADC, DL, 1st Sea Lord between 2013 and 2016, and Admiral Sir Edward Pellew, 1st Viscount Exmouth, GCB, who fought during the American War of Independence, the French Revolutionary Wars, and the Napoleonic Wars and who also bears an uncanny resemblance to the actor Robert Lindsay who played Sir Edward during the TV series “Hornblower“.
To round off the evening a medley of songs will be performed by Rodney Earl Clarke, one of the UK’s most versatile baritone singers.
As ever, there will be a grand prize draw with prizes that are unavailable to buy on the high street and which have a direct relevance to the Naval Aviation theme of the evening and the Coachmakers’ history.
Details of the prize draw will follow but now is the time to buy your Banquet 2024 tickets here.
Cost per ticket is £225pp (no VAT), however be bold and purchase a table of 10, for which the discounted cost of a full table is £2,000 (no VAT).
