There are a few places left for the “other” overseas trip (!), this time to visit Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, the (other) home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on the 12th May.
As Her Majesty said; “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot,” she said of Osborne, her beloved home on the Isle of Wight.
A visit to Osborne offers something for everyone to enjoy. Inside the house, get an intimate glimpse into royal life as you explore private apartments and grand reception rooms lined with furnishings and artworks from the Royal Collection.
Visit Queen Victoria’s private beach, discover Victoria and Albert’s personal collection of art and furniture and explore fascinating objects on loan from the Royal Collection Trust on display in the house and the Swiss Cottage Museum.
Given potentially diverse ferry and travel requirements it is better that those interested book their own ferry travel. The meeting point will be Osborne House at 10:45am on the 12th. The tour of the house will be self-guided with the help of a guidebook which can be pre-paid at the link below or purchased at the house.
If you would like to stay a little longer and explore the island further then there are a few of us staying at the Royal Hotel in Ventnor on the night of the 12th. There are very few rooms left so if you would like to stay over then please book directly with the hotel.
If enough members take up this option we will book a table together in the hotel for dinner.
Numbers will be limited to 10 cars (20 persons) on a first booked basis.
Cost for the entry to the house will be £29pp.
The guidebook cost is £6
