The Coachmakers’ Carol Service has always been described as the first signal that the Christmas season is starting. It’s a great opportunity to sing your favourite carols lustily and get yourselves in the mood for Christmas. The Master would like to invite you to join him at a magnificent and very special spiritual and musical occasion led by 20 choristers from the London Choral Sinfonia under Artistic Director, Michael Waldron, at St James, Garlickhythe. We will fill Wren’s Lantern (the Church’s nickname) with beautiful Christmas music. Bring friends and family and show them how the Coachmakers enjoy themselves.
Afterwards, we will take a short walk to the charming Tallow Chandlers’ Hall to enjoy the company of our friends and enjoy wine, mulled wine, canapés and mince pies. Michael and some of his choristers will follow us there to entertain us with more Christmas music.
Traditionally, we bring a small gift or vouchers for deserving children or young people living in the parish of St James, Garlickhythe. There will be a moment in the service when you will be invited to lay your gift under the tree.
