£60.00

Fenix Carriages, located in Clayhidon, Devon, is recognised as a centre of excellence in the restoration and maintenance of horse drawn vehicles from all periods. Under the direction of Senior Warden Mark Broadbent, the establishment is noted for its high standards of craftsmanship and its contribution to the preservation of traditional coachmaking skills.

Mark is widely regarded as an authority on carriage driving and the historical development of horse drawn transport, from the utilitarian gig to the stagecoaches employed by the mail service and the aristocracy. His private collection comprises 24 historically significant coaches, including Quicksilver, the last surviving mail coach by Vidler.

Mark has kindly extended an invitation for a private visit, during which attendees will have the opportunity to view the collection, tour the workshops, and experience a ride in one of the restored coaches.

Programme:
• 10.00am – Guided tour of the museum and coach collection
• Lunch – Provided as part of the visit
• Afternoon – A coach ride through the surrounding Devon countryside

This visit offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with Britain’s carriage driving heritage and to learn from one of the foremost experts in the field.
