Coachmaking golfers enjoy a great match at Tandridge Golf Club
Four stalwart Coachmakers took part in the annual golf match at Tandridge Golf Club, Surrey on 26th September with friends old and new from the Drapers, Ironmongers, and the Leathersellers.
A great day was had by all, albeit with mixed weather – we had both beautiful blue skies, howling winds and even a few showers.
Our team: Captain Graeme Hunt, William Hunt, Rupert Hunt, and Sir Algernon Bennett, struggled to win on the tough course at renowned Tandridge GC, but did sincerely put up a sterling fight to try to gain first prize.
However, the match was won by our friends from the Leathersellers, and as always, it was a delight to see Liveryman Geoffrey Dove, who joined us for lunch and presented the prizes. Geoffrey, a Coachmaker and Leatherseller, has hosted the match since its inception around 40 years ago and although in his nineties, he endeavours to say hello to all participants.
The next fixture for Coachmakers is our match with the Leathersellers at New Zealand Golf Club in April 2025. We will let you know the date as soon as possible so we can have a full start sheet on the day.
In the meantime, from Alex Wrighton (Golfing Secretary) and me, your Captain, we wish you all the very best of health and happiness, until we meet again.
