Calling all golfers

Please join us for this year’s livery golf days, as follows:

The Duchess of Gloucester Cup at The New Zealand Golf Club, Nr. Byfleet on Tuesday 8th April

This really is a very special occasion and all Coachmakers, whatever their current golfing capabilities, can participate and I encourage you to do so at this lovely course.

The day is as usual, shared with the Leathersellers and any guests are also most welcome to join you. The cost for two rounds and lunch is £170 for the day per player, which includes green fees for both morning and 12-hole afternoon rounds, bacon rolls, a delicious lunch and afternoon tea. There is no limit to our numbers for this, our main annual fixture.

Leathery Livery Golf Day at Royal Wimbledon on Thursday 24th April

This year we are again extremely lucky to have arranged another visit to The Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, one of the best courses in the country and virtually impossible to arrange a game there, so I do hope that you are able to put your name forward.

We will field a team of four Coachmakers to play against the Girdlers, Leathersellers, Curriers, Cordwainers, Saddlers, and Glovers with each Company having two pairs battling for the extensive prizes and the honour of organising next year’s event! The cost of the day will be advised. Our Captain, Assistant Graeme Hunt, will choose the team from available players.

The Prince Arthur Cup at Walton Heath on Thursday 15th May

For this event we are looking to field a team of four Coachmakers to represent the Company at the Livery Companies’ Golfing Society’s annual event. The day consists of two rounds of 18 holes. Our Captain will choose the team from available players.

The Coachmakers and Leathersellers Autumn day at Tandridge Golf Club on Thursday 25th September

This is our annual end of summer meeting where we play 18 holes in the morning and an afternoon round is optional. The cost per player is £172 which will include green fees, bacon rolls and coffee on arrival and a four course carvery lunch. This is a lovely course and a very convivial day, and we recommend it to all.

I would be very grateful to hear from you if you are able to join us for any of the above fixtures, confirming your current handicap, club and the names and handicap of any guests you wish to invite to play with us on Tuesday 8th April at the New Zealand Golf Club. Please email golfing secretary Liveryman Alexander Wrighton at awrighton@norwood7.co.uk

I will confirm registration and pairings nearer the time to those playing. I hope as many as possible will be able to play on some if not all of these dates.
