Autumn events for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2022

Dear Friend,

I hope you have had a good summer and managed to keep cool on those very hot days. The Lady Mayoress and I have been overwhelmed with the support we have received over the year, and not least the success of our fundraising events hosted for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal. As the mayoral year is drawing to a close we are excited to share with you the news and events we have coming up culminating in our Grand Finale in November.

On 15th June 2022 I was presented with a very special gift to mark being the first Irish Lord Mayor of the City of London. The Master of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, Chris Porter and the Middle Warden, Lorne MacKillop worked extremely hard as part of a team to present to me one of the bottles from a limited-edition cask of Jameson Black Barrel Irish whiskey. I, in turn, have proudly donated 183 bottles to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal for them to raise funds for the wonderful work they do. These bottles are uniquely labelled, individually numbered with space for personalisation if requested. To find out more information about the whiskey and how you can own one of these special bottles please do take a look at the website: https://www.thelordmayorsappeal.org/.

Our first event planned in autumn is the Ride Around the City which starts at Guildhall Yard on Friday 28th October. The Lady Mayoress and I will be riding through the City in order to raise awareness and funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal. We will make various stops along the way and there will be a number of volunteers ready to take any donations on the day. To support us on this equine adventure please donate on our JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lordmayorvincentkeaveny

To mark the end of my mayoral year I will be hosting the prestigious and extremely fun, Grand Finale on Thursday 3rd November at the spectacular Guildhall. The event will celebrate an array of Irish talent and entail a Champagne and Guinness reception, three-course Irish inspired dinner in collaboration with Chef Richard Corrigan, live auction and fabulous entertainment. It will be a very special evening for all and my last fundraiser, so please do join us.

For more information and to book your place at any of our events please visit the Appeal website thelordmayorsappeal.org/events/ or contact the team on events@thelordmayorsappeal.org.

I very much hope to see you at some of these forthcoming Appeal events and thank you for your support over the past year.

With best wishes
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor
Alderman Vincent Keaveny
