Aerospace awards

The Aerospace Awards Committee (AAC) is one of three specialist sub-committees of the Charity Committee (CC), the other two being the Automotive Bursary Committee and the Carriage Driving Awards Committee. The AAC Chairman is Steward Neil Sheath MRAeS who runs the committee along with other Liverymen members who are experienced in the aerospace industry, military, civil or private flying, all with an overarching interest in helping young people to realise the very best of their potential.

The Livery has a policy of inclusion and embraces all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, religion, medical or other need. It is about giving equal access and opportunities and not permitting any discrimination or intolerance. This policy affects all aspects of the AAC processes provided the applicants for the awards meet any professional or medical standards required for the duties or qualification to which the award is associated. Each award is subject to the standard terms and conditions which are not considered to be discriminatory in any way but are designed to ensure the potential applicants are within the target audience of the Livery’s wider policies.

All of the awards are applied for though the website and once the closing dates have passed those applicants selected for the short list will be notified and invited to an interview process. Applicants may apply for more than one award; this is particularly relevant where there is potentially more than one award applicable to the same purpose

The scholarships will be awarded annually, and the winners will be notified in time to meet their chosen course, conference or research dates and will subsequently be invited to and be expected to attend the next Coachmakers’ Aerospace Industry black tie dinner, held annually in November at a prestigious location in London, when they will be presented with a certificate detailing their award in the presence of many senior executives from the UK aerospace industry. The cost of the dinner will be borne by the Coachmakers, but either the winner or their employer will be responsible for any necessary travel and accommodation expenses.

All questions or queries should be addressed by email to the Aerospace Awards Committee Chairman, Steward Neil Sheath MRAeS.

Please read our standard terms and conditions, which can be viewed here.
