A seasonal message from Father Tim Handley, the Rector of St James Garlickhythe, ‘Wren’s Lantern’ and the Coachmakers’ affiliated church

Dear All

On behalf of everyone at St James I’d like to wish you a blessed, peaceful, and healthy Christmastide.

It can often be difficult to feel much joy in the midst of so much anxiety, but I am reminded of the first words of Jesus to his followers after his Resurrection: ‘Do not be afraid’.

Jesus, the baby of Bethlehem, is Emmanuel: God-is-with-us.

He will never abandon us.

Will never turn away from us, or reject us.

He is, one might say, the visible proof that God is with all His children.

Always.

Until the end of time.

Tidings of comfort and joy.

With every blessing this Christmastide.
