Final tickets released for Brooklands’ once-in-a-century Grand Prix celebration

On Friday 7th August, exactly 100 years to the day since Britain’s first Grand Prix – organised by the Royal Automobile Club – was held at Brooklands on 7th August 1926, Brooklands Museum will come alive for an unforgettable evening celebrating one of the most significant anniversaries in British motorsport history.

A final limited release of tickets is now available for the Grand Prix Centenary Premiere Evening, offering motorsport enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience the celebrations before the sold-out main event on Saturday. With only a small number of tickets remaining, this is the last chance to be part of a once-in-a-century occasion at the place where Britain’s Grand Prix story began.

Brooklands was not simply the host of the first British Grand Prix in 1926; it was the birthplace of British motorsport. As the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit, it provided the stage on which Britain joined the international Grand Prix arena, bringing together the leading drivers, engineers and racing machines of the day. A century later, the Museum will honour that legacy with an extraordinary gathering of 125 Grand Prix cars spanning the full story of the sport, from pioneering early racers to modern Formula One icons.

Guests at the Premiere Evening will be able to enjoy an exclusive first look at the centenary gathering and the new Britain’s Grand Prix Story exhibition, which explores the people, machines and innovations that have shaped more than 100 years of Grand Prix racing. The evening will also include live music, food and drink, atmospheric 1920s-inspired surroundings and the chance to see Grand Prix cars brought together on the historic site where it all began.

One of the highlights of the celebration will be a recreation of the original race line-up, evoking the drama and spectacle of the 1926 Grand Prix on the very ground where British motor racing history was made. For one evening, Brooklands will once again become the centre of the Grand Prix world, uniting heritage, engineering achievement and the passion of motorsport fans in a setting unlike any other.

This is more than an event; it is a landmark moment for Brooklands Museum and for British motorsport. The main Grand Prix Centenary Event is already sold out, making the Premiere Evening on Friday 7th August the final opportunity to join the celebrations, stand where the story began and witness a unique tribute to a century of Grand Prix racing.
