Hosted by Master of the Charterhouse, Peter Aiers, the evening will commence at 6pm with a welcome drink in the Governors’ Room, before embarking on a tour of this wonderful historic site, including the Chapel, Great Hall, Norfolk Cloister and the newly restored Great Chamber and Tapestry Room.
The evening will conclude with a drinks reception, hosted by the Master of the Charterhouse in his personal quarters.
The Charterhouse is a former Carthusian monastery, located between Barbican and Smithfield Market, and to the north of what is now Charterhouse Square. Since the dissolution of the monasteries in the 16th century the site has served as a private mansion, a boys’ school and an almshouse, which it remains to this day.
The tour is strictly limited to 10 guests, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
