Welcome new Liverymen, July 2019

At the Summer Court Dinner at Barber Surgeons’ Hall in July, we welcomed five new members who were clothed in the Livery.

Alderman Alastair King with The Master

Alderman Alastair King was Sworn and Clothed in the Livery as a Honorary Coachmaker and is a serving Alderman for the Ward of Queenhithe in the City of London. He sits on the Court of Aldermen, part of the Common Council of the City of London. Alastair studied law at the University of Kent and chaired European Education for the Young Presidents’ Organisation, the premier peer network of young chief executives. In his spare time Alastair is a season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotspur FC, enjoys the arts and is devoted to his Italian greyhound, Siena.

Sir Michael Kadoorie GBS with The Master

Sir Michael Kadoorie GBS works and lives in Hong Kong with his wife Betty. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators. He enjoys a wide range of recreational activities including travel, photography, flying and walking. He is a member of the Hong Kong Club and Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club.

David Cole with Mum, Dad and wife Alice

This family shot tells us all we need to know about David Cole’s ‘provenance’. He is pictured here with Mum, Dad and wife Alice, and the couple live in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. David attended the London School of Economics and is currently studying for a PhD (Politics), at the University of York. He is a member of the Political Studies Association and when he can find some free time enjoys drones, photography and board games.

Jimmy Jeffery with The Master

Jimmy Jeffery lives in Crockenhill, Kent with his partner Amanda. He is a member of the Coaching Club of Great Britain and has many connections from his involvement in the sector. Jimmy lists Attelage de Tradition as one of his recreational interests – an exciting carriage driving competition designed to promote the use of original traditional carriages built before 1945 and encourage best practice carriage driving.

David and Sara Lane

David Lane, pictured with his wife Sara, lives in Chipstead, Surrey. David studied an engineering degree at the University of Southampton and is now an Engineering Operations Manager. He is a member of The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering. In his spare time he is interested in motorsport, hill walking, skiing, horse riding and tennis. After all that exertion he enjoys settling down with a good sci fi novel.
