DESCRIPTION:Each year at the Members’ Meeting\, the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit plays host to incredible grids of racing machines\, from classic tin-tops and GTs\, to motorcycles and open-wheeled Formula 3 and F1 machines. \nIn 2025\, we enjoyed spectacular demonstrations such as: the first competitive GT3 Shoot-Out\, the running of the Cadillac Hertz Team Jota WEC Hypercar\, and a tribute to Ayrton Senna with his first Grand Prix winning Lotus 97T driven by his nephew Bruno Senna. CCC get together for those who have tickets through their GRRC membership. \nBYO fizz and bites. \nThese events are open to any Coachmaker Liveryman or Freeman. DESCRIPTION:Through the hard work of Freeman David Barzilay and his team\, we have been given the most wonderful and exclusive opportunity to see Bluebird K7 run again on Coniston Water. \nA full package for this event has been arranged as per the details below. We have been allocated 12 double rooms in the Windermere Manor Hotel which will be the base for our weekend. Unfortunately given this restriction the allocation will be on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nWe now understand that Bluebird K3 is going to make an appearance on Lake Coniston together with K7. The is the first time Campbell father and son’s craft have ever been on the water together. Hurry up and grab the last few places for what is going to be a truly historic\, once in a lifetime event. \nTo enliven the festival spirit the organisers have also booked some great bands over the weekend; The Bootleg Beatles\, The Sweet\, the Counterfeit Stones\, Susi Quatro and 10cc to name a few! Enjoy a Champagne reception on arrival followed by dinner. \nDay two: Saturday 16th May\nThe Bluebird Café \nSituated on the shores of Coniston Water\, The Bluebird Café is in a unique and idyllic location. On arrival the café will provide a welcome Bucks Fizz followed by a breakfast butty mid-morning. \nEnjoy a two-course lunch with a glass of wine where you can meet the men who are piloting K7 for her return to water: Dave Warby\, a current world water speed record challenger in his hydroplane\, Spirit of Australia II and RAF pilot Flight Lt David-John Gibbs. \nThe package also includes a mid-afternoon cream tea and unlimited hot drinks throughout the day. Alcohol can be purchased separately. \nIt is planned that Bluebird K7 will make several runs across Coniston Water throughout the day\, but this will be subject to weather conditions. On return to the Windermere Manor Hotel a buffet dinner will be provided. \nDay three: Sunday 17th May\nLunch at The Inn on the Lake\, followed by an Ullswater Steamer boat trip \nA three-course lunch with tea and coffee at the Inn on the Lake Hotel at 12pm followed by a boat trip on Ullswater at 2:05pm\, where Donald Campbell broke his first world water speed record. You will travel from Glenridding Pier to Pooley Bridge and back again. \nDay four: Monday 18th May\nDeparture \nThe cost for this wonderful three-day event is £1\,801 per couple sharing a double room or £1\,269 for a single occupancy.\nBe quick as there are only 12 rooms available to us.

DESCRIPTION:Coachmakers’ Car Club visit to Portmeirion\, an Italian-style village in North Wales\, designed by architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975. \nIt is known for its unique architecture\, and coastal scenery in Snowdonia\, and as the filming location for the TV show The Prisoner. The village features colourful buildings\, two hotels (one of which we will stay in for one night)\, shops\, restaurants\, and extensive gardens and woodlands to explore. \nThe following day we will have a tour on the Welsh roads\, before leaving for home. \nLate spring 2026\, date tbc. \nThese events are open to any Coachmaker Liveryman or Freeman. DESCRIPTION:Fenix Carriages\, located in Clayhidon\, Devon\, is recognised as a centre of excellence in the restoration and maintenance of horse drawn vehicles from all periods. Under the direction of Senior Warden Mark Broadbent\, the establishment is noted for its high standards of craftsmanship and its contribution to the preservation of traditional coachmaking skills. \nMark is widely regarded as an authority on carriage driving and the historical development of horse drawn transport\, from the utilitarian gig to the stagecoaches employed by the mail service and the aristocracy. SUMMARY:A tour of the Nyetimber Estate
DESCRIPTION:A unique opportunity to explore the historic Nyetimber Estate followed by a bespoke menu paired with the finest British wine. \nThe Nyetimber Estate is based in West Chiltington\, West Sussex\, and is only open to consumers on six weekends a year. Outside of those dates\, visits are reserved for those with a personal introduction. \nA brief history – the estate dates back to 1086\, when it was first mentioned in the Domesday Book. Over the centuries it served as a monastery\, then from 1536 was owned by King Henry VIII. In more recent times (1988) it became the vineyard and pioneer of English sparkling wine we know today – this is a visit that appeals to both wine and history lovers. For this private visit the estate is exclusively ours for the day. This includes access to the two medieval barns\, the vineyards\, and the courtyard. \nThe visit includes: \nA three-course paired lunch and tasting. \nThe core range includes five wines: Classic Cuvee MV\, Rosé MV\, Blanc de Blancs 2017\, Tillington Single Vineyard 2016\, and Cuvée Chérie MV\, followed by Prestige Cuvées — 1086 by Nyetimber 2013 and 1086 Rosé 2013 (vintages subject to change). \nThe prestige wines can cost up to  £180 per bottle. \nGuide itinerary \n11:00 – Guest arrival\, tea/coffee\, and (weather permitting) time to enjoy the Nyetimber courtyard. \n11:30 – Welcome and introduction to the estate and wines. \n11:40–12:30 – Walking vineyard tour through some of England’s oldest vines. \n12:40–15:00 – Lunch with paired Nyetimber wines\, led by a brand ambassador with dishes created by the in-house chef. \n15:00–15:30 – Tea/coffee and departure. \nPractical details \nParking: Available on-site behind the Estate Office. \nNearest train station: Pulborough (10 minutes by taxi). \nA list of local accommodation will be made available for those who wish to stay. \n

SUMMARY:Coachmakers’ tour of Bruges\, Ypres\, Arras and the WWI battlefields
DESCRIPTION:Join us on what will be a memorable and perhaps moving tour of the WWI battlefields\, memorials and evidence of the horror that was the western front. \nNorthern France is home to some of the most significant WWI battlefields\, where history remains etched into the landscape. Major Brian Rogers will lead us on a fascinating tour of the battle sites and memorials of this part of the French/Belgian border. \nWe have 11 double rooms booked in three hotels for this trip\, so be quick to sign up. \nFriday 12th June \nThe tour will kick-off in Bruges\, having made your own way there\, on 12th June at the Dukes Palace and from there to a local restaurant for a welcoming dinner. Private parking has been arranged and is included in the package price. \nSaturday 13th June \nAfter a relaxed breakfast on Saturday 13th we will leave Bruges at 10.00am\, arriving in Ypres at 11.15am for coffee.\nOur packed itinerary\, under the leadership of Major Brian Rogers\, will start in Ypres (or “Wipers” as it was known to the Tommys). The tour starts with a walk around Ypres incorporating the Grosse Market\, St George’s Church\, Menin Gate\, ramparts and Rampart Cemetery\, followed by a late self-paid lunch. \nAfternoon:\nIn Flanders Fields Museum\nCheck into the Ariane Hotel in Ypres\nWe will attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres\, at 8.00pm where the Coachmakers will lay a wreath of remembrance. There may also be the possibility of one of our group to read the exhortation but this is always at the discretion of the Last Post representative on the evening\, depending on the number of interested parties and their relative claims. Our participants are always free to make their wishes known to the Last Post association representative\, who will do what he can to help in the circumstances.\nDinner is in the hotel on our first night but will be late at 9pm due to the ceremony. \nSunday 14th June \nMorning\, after breakfast:\nHousehold Cavalry Memorial Zandvoorde\nHill 60 Memorial\, Zwarteleen\, Belgium\nAristocrats Cemetery Zillebeke Churchyard\nPasschendaele Museum – features trench reconstructions and has a good restaurant where a self-paid lunch can be taken. \nAfternoon:\nTyne Cot Cemetery – the largest Commonwealth War Graves cemetery in the world.\nLangemark German Military Cemetery – Contrast between the German mass graves and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemeteries.\nSt. Julien Memorial – Briefly stop at ‘The Brooding Soldier’ memorial\, which commemorates Canadian troops who endured the first large-scale gas attack in 1915.\nEssex Farm Cemetery\, where John McCrae wrote ‘In Flanders Fields’.\nDinner: Restaurant in Ypres. \nMonday 15th June \nTravel south to the Somme region (about a 90-minute drive from Ypres) to focus on the 1916 battle.\nMorning:\nHawthorn Ridge\nVisit the preserved battlefield and trenches at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial Park.\nThiepval Memorial to the Missing which lists more than 72\,000 names of soldiers with no known grave.\nA self-paid lunch at Thiepval\, either on arrival or departure dependent on timings.\nAfternoon:\nUlster Tower\, a memorial to the 36th Ulster Division.\nUnderground Somme 1916 Museum in Albert to gain context on the lives of soldiers on the front line.\nCheck in to the Hotal Mercure Arras Centre Gare.\nDinner in a local restaurant. \nTuesday 16th June \nLeave hotel after breakfast.\nParticipants can either hot-foot it home or we can conclude the tour by visiting Vimy Ridge and Quarry Cemetery on the way back north to the Channel ports – the choice is yours.\nVimy Ridge Canadian Memorial. A striking monument\, preserved trenches\, and visitor centre commemorating the Canadian Corps’ significant battle in April 1917.\nQuarry Cemetery – visit the grave of Captain The Hon. Fergus Bowes-Lyon\, the brother of HM the late Queen Mother. SUMMARY:Car Club - 100 years of Brands Hatch
DESCRIPTION:The UK’s Brands Hatch circuit will celebrate 100 years of competition in 2026 with a programme of demonstrations\, displays and guest appearances. \nSet in a natural bowl amid the rolling Kent countryside\, Brands Hatch began life as a mushroom field before evolving into one of Britain’s most significant race venues\, initially for motorcycle racing. Once the surface was asphalted in the early 1950s\, Brands Hatch began to stage events for both bikes and cars. \nOver the next 75 years\, Brands Hatch hosted everything from club meetings to Formula 1\, the World Sportscar Championship and WorldSBK – including European and British Grands Prix won by the likes of Jim Clark\, Niki Lauda and Nigel Mansell. To mark the centenary in 2026\, circuit operator MotorSport Vision’s Century of Power programme will centre on a raft of historic race meetings. More details will be available in the new year together with CCC participation and exact dates. \nThese events are of course open to any Coachmaker Liveryman or Freeman. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tour of Haynes Motor Museum with opportunity to visit The Sherborne and Sherborne Abbey. \nThe Haynes International Motor Museum is the UK’s largest collection of the greatest cars from around the world with more than 400 amazing cars and bikes from the dawn of motoring in the late 1800s through nostalgic classics of the 1950s and 1960s\, glorious Bentley and Rolls-Royce models to world-renowned super cars such as the Jaguar XJ220. \nWe will have a dedicated tour and the opportunity should some of us be overcome with the extend of the display to visit The Sherborne and Sherborne Abbey. \nAutumn 2026\, date tbc. \nThese events are open to any Coachmaker Liveryman or Freeman. Should you wish to attend please join the Coachmakers’ Car Club for the small sum of £10 payable on an annual basis. Subscriptions will contribute to the 350th fund.
