Planning for the 2022 Banquet at the Guildhall continues apace to enable the Coachmakers’ Company to pay tribute to those who served in the South Atlantic in 1982 and to those who provided vital support, particularly those with connections to the Coachmakers’ Company.
Although it may change as the planning process evolves, an overview of the event is as follows:
1800 Champagne Reception in the Old Library
1900 Dinner is served
2100 The Loyal Toast
2105 The Coach Horn Gallop followed by the Post Horn Gallop
2115 The Master’s Speech
2125 The Response
2135 Entertainment commences
2215 The evening concludes
2230 Carriages
However, contrary to the announcement made in the last edition of Coachlines, ticket sales will NOT commence immediately after publication of the November edition of Coachlines. Instead, to avoid releasing the adverts and opening the booking process for the Carol Service, the Award to Industry Dinner and the Banquet within a few days of each other, tickets for the banquet will now go on sale on 15th December 2021.
The cost of the tickets will be £200 per person and guests will be seated at tables of 10. It is planned to fill all 40 available tables so keep an eye out for the first advert and book early as the interest already expressed thus far indicates that this will be a sell-out event.
The core purpose
The core purpose of this event is for everyone to enjoy a splendid evening while remembering all of those who took part in the Falklands Campaign but specifically those with connections to the Coachmakers’ Company. At the same time however, it is also intended to use the event to raise money in support of the Coachmakers’ charitable ethos. Therefore, all proceeds from the Banquet will go directly towards charitable activity and be shared as follows:
50% will be donated to the Coachmakers Charitable Trust to support the various scholarships, bursaries and awards already provided by the Coachmakers’ Company.
50% will be shared equally between the following charities:
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
