Meet our 2021 De Havilland scholarship winner

The winner of the 2021 Sir Geoffrey De Havilland Scholarship Award is Andrea Troso. Andrea is an Italian who has settled in Milton Keynes, where he helps his parents who own and run an Italian restaurant business, while also working as a bicycle technician. Andrea has recently completed a two-year course in Aeronautical Engineering at Milton Keynes College of Innovation and Technology. His career ambition is to obtain both his engineer’s and pilot’s licences and he has completed 15 launches learning to fly in gliders with the Air Cadets.
Andrea has been an Air Cadet for five years and currently volunteers working with vintage aircraft operations at both Duxford and Old Warden aerodromes. Andrea is also a keen sportsman, amateur astronomer and is currently completing his gold Duke of Edinburgh award. His sporting activities focus on road cycling and also enjoys swimming and football.
Andrea has shown a keen interest in building his career in aviation, particularly as a vintage aircraft restoration engineer.
