Master Leathersellers’ Dinner

In early July, on a fine summer’s evening, the Master and Clerk were invited to a very special dinner by the Master Leatherseller at his own Hall.

This well-endowed Livery Company has not only built its third hall but owns the tower block next door! The atmosphere exuded the perfume of British premium leather. Needless to say both the food and wine were of a very fine order.

Everything went stunningly except for the lack of the presence of the Master! He was delayed somewhere in the Channel Tunnel. But everything in the Leathersellers is executed with great confidence. His absence, apparently, was of little consequence because the Master had his own brother, an earlier Master, to stand in for him. The whole evening was conducted to great cheering. An exceedingly good evening!
