It is with great honour that your Master invites you, along with our fellow Livery companies, the Wheelwrights, Tin Plate Workers and Pattenmakers, all of which are celebrating their 350th anniversaries this year, to join with Lord Mayor William Russell, for a morning of inspirational talks and presentations on this auspicious and historical day.
The programme will include a talk given by the Lord Mayor, who has been elected to serve a second term in office. There will be a Q&A session afterwards.
Tom Carroll and his Nib
Tom Carroll, the Coachmakers’ and Wheelwrights’ jointly sponsored Apprentice, will entertain you with a presentation, during which he will reveal his Nib. This is Tom’s latest apprentice piece, a scaled down version of a traditional horse-drawn wheeled vehicle used to move logs in the forest.
Tom had been scheduled to join the Coachmakers’ and Wheelwrights’ joint entry into this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show to parade his Nib before the Lord Mayor and the many thousands of attendees who would normally line the streets of London to witness the event; this gives him a unique and very special opportunity to demonstrate his skills to us all.
We will also enjoy four short presentations from each of the Livery companies, led by their Masters and will include from the Coachmakers an interview with Fairbourne Carriages, the guardians of the Lord Mayor’s State Coach.
The event will conclude with the opportunity to join your fellow Coachmakers, hopefully with a glass in hand, in a separate breakout room to catch up on specific Coachmaker news and will conclude by 1230 hrs.
