Behind the scenes at Bentley Motors

For those of you interested in great British automotive engineering, More4 has a TV series called How to Build which is a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how various British cars are built, writes The Master Richard Charlesworth MVO. I watched the one featuring Bentley Motors (which can still be viewed on catch-up) with some trepidation, because sometimes these things can be either too obsequious or set out to find fault, but I really enjoyed it. It followed a particular Continental GT through build, and the process was explained by real people, not the boss or PR man. The mix of astonishing craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology is unique, and the lengths they go to, to create something special, is unbelievable. They have done or will be doing similar programmes featuring other marques, but who cares….
