Aerospace Aerotron Award

On 23rd May three Coachmakers attended the head office of Aerotron to select a young engineer to be sponsored to take their Part 66 aircraft engineer licence. Aerotron generously hosted the selection day as well as kindly sponsoring the award itself. The award provides up to £7,000 for a young person to take the theory examinations for their Part 66 aircraft engineer’s licence. This is a very significant step in a person’s career and the significance of the award should not be under estimated, it is life and career changing for the individual.

Bradley Hamilton

This year there was a particularly strong number and quality of applications and several, if not all, applicants would be worthy winners making the task of selecting a short list and then a winner particularly challenging. This year two awards were made as some award funds were diverted from another engineering award which was not made.

The winners are Bradley Hamilton, who is a mechanic at 2Excel Lasham and Aaron MacLeod who is a mechanic at Boing Gatwick. Both are embarking on their studies using their own resources and the awards should allow them to complete their examinations for the award of the licence. Both winners are very worthy having been selected in the face of very strong competition and are commended to the Livery, they will receive their certificates at the Aerospace Industry Dinner in November.
