Craft Freeman

For those who are involved in associated traditional crafts and young people who win bursaries and awards early in their careers, the Craft Freeman category of Livery membership was introduced in 2006. Nominations must be approved by the Court and successful candidates are sworn to the Freedom of the Livery and will pay one quarter of the annual subscription into the Charitable Fund. Candidates may, under the sponsorship of the Livery, obtain the Freedom of the City of London and become eligible for full Liveryman status if proposed and seconded in the usual way. Craft Freemen pay a discounted sum to attend formal dinners and their details are included in the Directory. The Junior Warden manages all Craft Freeman matters.

  • Mr Erik G West MVO
  • Miss Frances Kelly

Companions of the Livery

So that spouses of deceased Liverymen may retain their links with Livery friends, the Court, at a meeting in July 2005, agreed that an individual whose spouse was a full Livery member on their death would be entitled to become a Companion of the Livery. On approval by the Court, the Companion would receive all Livery correspondence and be eligible to attend dinners and functions. A direct debit annual levy will be made to the Company’s Charitable Trust. The Court directed that companions of the Livery be listed in the annual Directory.
